Random Art

-Linking probability with art

Set up grids or cordinate axes in a number of different ways using squared or isometric paper. Use dice or spinners to determine position and the colour to use.

Gives pupils an insight into the concept of randomness...but is it art???

Have a look at more images and see how they were created.

What other ways are there of generating 'art' randomly?

What makes an image art? Can an image which is created randomly be called art? Is the creation of the image entirely random?

Send pictures to the gallery - please attach an explanation of how you generated your artwork.
